Kolindros Mushrooms
In 2002 having multiple years of experience in the management –collection of raw materials (straw, cereal, corn etc ) which up until then was intended for cattle breeding the founder of the company “Kolindros Mushrooms” Thomas Dristas recognized an alternative opportunity, the creation of a vertical production unit of mushrooms.
Today the company “Kolindros Mushrooms” is a contemporary mushroom production unit which operates according to international standards. Having the possibility to produce 15 tons of fresh pleurotus mushrooms per week and 200 tons of substrate of pleurotus mushrooms we can respond to the requirements of the domestic and international market, making a conscious shift towards quality. Our goal is the delivery to our customers of mushroom products of superior taste and nutritional value certified according to the strictest quality management systems.
We constantly seek the innovative development combined with an environmentally friendly approach:
- By using recycled packaging materials
- By choosing varieties of pleurotus mushrooms that are season appropriate
- By reusing a big percentage of used water
- By using the exhausted/spent substrate as organic soil amendment.
- Total absence of chemical waste and chemical additives in our farming
- Use of solar power for the production of hot water and air
- Selection of energy class A equipment
We support the local community by recruiting workforce and selecting associates from the surrounding area.
We are supplied raw materials and equipment coming from local suppliers and we sponsor various local cultural events.
